5 Tips How to be Successful

You CAN support yourself selling African hand-made products. A home business is possible, just use the five steps below.

#1 – Passion – Passion is what drives you, and will shine through all your communications with people. Passion keeps you keeping on when all others have given up. You don’t just like selling African crafts. You have a fire-in-the-belly passion. You love these pieces of Art, whether it’s a hand-stitched garment or a hand-made drum, so much that your love translates into every sale.

If you don’t have passion for what you sell or the business, don’t start selling. Without passion you will give up on your home business and craft too soon. You may even learn to hate this job and be unhappy. And THAT will show in your work.

#2 – Quality – If you want your home business in it for the long haul, reputation is so important. A hand-made item from Africa will command better prices than any machine-made products made in a factory using cheap materials. Nothing beats QUALITY.

#3 – Uniqueness – You are a unique individual and what or how you sell should have a little touch of your personality. Tell your customers why you like a particular item, or customize it in your own way.
This is much easier with the personal care products; you can easily add your favorite fragrance to a lotion, soap, or incense, and then call it your own! You can wear your favorite African garments and when people ask you about them when you’re out and about (and people WILL ask) you can always tell them about your home business. People can’t find hand-made African products elsewhere, so you may be their only way to enjoy these great African products.

#4 – Targeting – Research thoroughly until you identify and understand your target market. This is the hardest step but once you know your customers, you will save yourself a lot of time and grief.
Millions of people search ebay and you can look there to see if your items sell. Just don’t get discouraged if you don’t see it there. Lots of items sell well offline but not online. And bargain hunters are everywhere on ebay. You may not get a fair price for your item. Use ebay as a marketing research tool. It’s great for testing the waters and sometimes you actually get a great price for your item.
Search out that target market at every opportunity. Your local community probably has more opportunities than you could ever imagine for your home business. Targeting makes selling so much easier. Go to your local salons to sell personal care products, put up a flier in your local grocery or whole foods store, have a home party and invite your friends. Eventually you will figure out who is most interested in your products and who to target.

#5 – Persistence – Be relentless. If you do the first four steps, persistence will pay off. Always keep moving forward. Learn more about your products than anyone else (passion really keeps you going here) and keep searching for those targeted customers.
Be strong through rejections. Learn from them, adjust, and make steady progress. This is why passion is the first step for your home business to succeed. If your passion wanes, your persistence will, too. Without persistence, starting a home business will be a very short term endeavor.

If you have Passion, Quality, Uniqueness, Targeting, and Persistence for your home business, then you can plan on counting the money from the sale of your products. 7 Ways to Communicate with Your Customers More Effectively

A simple error in communication can be the clincher that loses you an important sale, and more importantly, a lifetime customer. Effective communicating is one of the most important aspects of having a successful business.

#1 – Never Interrupt:
Never, ever interrupt others, particularly your customers. They’ll be particularly upset if, while they’re explaining a problem, you interrupt them and start offering a solution. If you feel you have to interrupt, at least cut to the chase and tell the other person what you think his or her main idea was. That way, the other person at least can confirm or correct you, and in either situation can save time.

#2 – Actively Listen:
Did you ever get the feeling, when talking to someone, that you were just talking to a wall? The person may have heard you but gave no indication of it at all. Avoid doing the same thing. When communicating with others, it’s just as important that people be aware that you’re listening as it is that you’re actually listening. For that reason, be involved with and react to what the other person is saying, either with a nod, or an “I see,” or a paraphrase of the other person’s statements. You’ll strengthen your own understanding and make a much better impression.

#3- Use analogies to explain concepts:
A good way to explain a technical idea is to use an analogy. Though they have limitations, analogies are helpful in explaining an unfamiliar idea in terms of a familiar one.

#4- Use positive statements instead of negative ones:
Your customers are more interested in your capabilities than in your limitations. The way you say things to them influences how they perceive you and your business. You can be seen as a roadblock or you can be seen as a partner. Instead of saying “I can’t help you unless you can pay with a credit card” say, “Do you have a credit card you’d like to use?” and be creative about ways you can offer solutions.

Here’s another reason to avoid negative statements. Have you ever experienced gaps of silence in your telephone calls, where the conversation breaks up? Usually it happens when using a cell phone. If the gap occurs as you’re saying “not,” your recipient could get the opposite message from what you intended.

#5- Be careful of misinterpreted words and phrases:
Sometimes we say something with innocent intent, but the other person misinterprets it. We mean to say one thing, but our pronunciation or inflection causes us to convey something else.

Be especially careful of the word “you.” Overusing this word can make the person you’re talking to feel defensive or threatened. Instead of saying, “You need to speak louder,” try saying, “I’m having trouble hearing.” Another issue involves the dual meaning of “you.” Unlike other languages, English uses the same word to refer to an actual person (for example, the person you’re talking to) as well as to a hypothetical person. Suppose you said to someone, “You never know what’s going to happen next,” and meant to equate “you” with “people in general.” The other person might think you’re referring to him or her specifically and take offense. A better alternative might be, “It’s really unpredictable here.”

If someone is upset, one of the absolute worst things to say is “calm down.” It might work one half of one percent of the time, but as a rule all it does is make things worse.

#6- Remember that purchase problems involve emotional reactions:
When customers have a purchase problem (for example, UPS is running their order a day late because of weather problems), keep in mind that they’ll almost always have an emotional reaction as well. Those emotions can range from simple annoyance to outright panic, depending on the importance of the product and the time element involved. It’s important to acknowledge and recognize these emotional reactions. If all you do is solve the problem and walk away, chances are the customer will still be upset.

In these cases, simply saying something like, “I know this is really hard for you” or “I hate when that happens to me” can help the customer feel better about the situation and possibly feel more positive about you. Always remember to apologize if their issue has anything to do with you or your business. Treat their problem, however small it may seem to you, like it is a big deal and that it isn’t something that happens often. Be surprised that there was a problem, that way the customer will realize this isn’t a problem they will have to continue dealing with if they are your customer.

#7- Keep the customer informed:
There’s an interesting fact about the production of mushrooms. While they are growing, mushrooms are kept in a dark building and are covered with fertilizer. Don’t treat your customers the same way. Here’s what I mean:

Keep your customers informed of developments involving them, particularly with regard to any order issues or developments with their purchase. If a customer leaves you a request by e-mail, let the customer know you received it, even if you are still in the process of handling it. Doing so gives the customer one less matter to worry about.

So You’ve Had A Bad Work From Home Experience

There’s no shame in being scammed. It happens to everyone. It may seem like ripping the scammers tongue out is too kind for them. But there are some options you have to make things right.

There is a story about a man in Denver who just graduated from college and needed work. He couldn’t find employment anywhere, and decided to work at home with an online company that specialized in data entry. He was a smart guy, but admittedly gullible to the point where he believed everyone on their word, no matter how often he got burned.

He signed on with a data entry service that charged him a monthly fee of $10.00. Since he’d never had a work at home job, he couldn’t tell if that was the norm, so he paid it. He set up a direct debit with them so the fee could be taken out of his account every month.

He was sent an email with a list of data he needed to enter into a template he had to download, and was paid $.05 per page of entered data. This originally sounded good to him. But, he’d spent almost $80,000 to get his degree and after doing math wound up making a whopping $1.00 every twenty pages.

However, that $.05 per page was reset after each assignment, which had a maximum page count of 8 or 9. That meant that if he worked all day, which he did, he made about $5.25. And each month, when they took out their fee, it made a real difference. Also, when he quit the company continued withdrawing money from his bank account.

This is not uncommon. When you take a job you need to be especially careful of scams like this one that have you doing too much work for almost no money. What can you do when that happens? First and foremost, if you can’t find any information about a company online then don’t take the job. Let someone else do the dirty work; let them get hoodwinked first.

It sounds mean, but why should you take the fall? You can’t afford to get scammed, so don’t be “that guy”. The other thing you can do is report it on sites that specialize in work from home scams. There are blogs you can post your comments or complaints on about any job you’ve been bamboozled by. Unfortunately there is hardly any legal recourse for you. Once it’s happened, it’s happened. The reality is, once you’ve been swindled, you can’t be un-swindled. It happened; now move on to a good job.

Many work at home jobs are sometimes thought of as low-end employment. That’s not the case. There are real jobs and real careers out there for hard workers with the proper experience. Just because you got scammed once doesn’t mean it has to happen again. A rule of thumb is to never give out any personal financial information to anyone over the internet for a work at home position. PayPal payments are usually a sure indicator that the employer is legit. So, take a breath, step back and then move forward with your new work from home position.

If you are looking for best work at home jobs or seeking helpful tips to find perfect internet business ideas conforming your ability, skill, and education, WorkatHomeNoScams.com can provide you with best advice and invaluable information to implement your own home business idea on the internet, the way you want.

Keys to Earning Money Online

There are many ways to earn money online some more difficult than others, some more expensive than others but ALL require vasts amount of time to set up and maintain. There does exist a way to earn money online that is not as time-consuming or expensive as other “systems”. In fact, if you can spare ten minutes a day or a half hour or so per week, you can make money online. With that much time and effort I can’t guarantee you’ll earn big money but you’ll earn something. And, of course, once you you do see those trickling dollars here, a few pennies there; you’ll want to place even more time and effort into it! That’s when the ball will really start rolling. This method of making money online ONLY snowball’s into larger and larger proportions the more you put into it. There’s NO selling, NO advertising costs, once implemented there are NO headaches. Who knows maybe you can even quite your job some day and have a veritable “cash tree” at home. It is the one thing ALL the search engines crave, the reason they send out their “robots”. The search engines will eat your site up and deliver you thousands of FREE visitors. You don’t even need a website to start earning online with this method.

So here are the Keys to Earning Money Online:

1st Key – Content

That’s the answer that literally thousands of people package up with pretty bows and landing pages (a.k.a web page) and sell to you for about eighty bucks too much. There may lie a secret out there to making money online but the one I stand with is CONTENT. That is the key to making money online, easily, affordably, and continuosly.

CONTENT IS KING

Fresh, informative, unique, quality Content, to be more precise, is what search engines adore. It’s free, you can write your own content and you don’t even have to be an amazing writer (just look at me and I’ve been earning money online for nearly ten years now). You can work on it whenever you like. Your content so way what you will (try to keep it legal).

Keyword Density – Amount of times a keyword or keyword phrase repeats itself in your content.

e.g. You write a fabulous five hundred word review on “Tennis Shoes”. Your topic of choice is Tennis Shoes but this keyword phrase (Tennis Shoes) is only displayed in your title and never again shows up in your content but the keyword phrase “Muddy Terrain” (just an example) repeats itself ten times in your text. What you really want are readers that are looking for “Tennis Shoes” but you’re instead receiving “Muddy Terrain” visitors because to the search engine robots the Keyword Phrase that repeats itself the most is, you guessed it: “Muddy Terrain”.

Try to aim for a 5% keyword density and all should be alright. This figure is often difficult to achieve without your content sounding very very very very very repetitive. If you want targeted readers you need to create a balance between quality and keyword density. This isn’t hard and I can guarantee it gets easier as you go along. Back to our e.g.

5% keyword density on 500 words = 25 repetitions of “Tennis Shoes” is needed. So try to get those into your content right away to ensure that the search engine robots know how to classify your content. (I know that the figures may be off as there are TWO words, its okay to estimate).

2nd & 3rd Key – Display & Monetization

These two keys I’ve grouped together for a reason: Display and Monetization go hand in hand. To ensure that you’ll earn money online your content should be displayed in a way that it is both easy for the reader to read. Reading your content should be a pleasure. This is also true for your ads (Monetization), they should display meaningful offers based on your content. Displaying your content can be done in a number of methods:

1. Website- You can always buy a domain, pay someone to build you a website (or build it yourself) and then place ads on your page to monetize your content.

2. Blogs – Same concept as “Website” but without the hassle of building or buying anything as most are free.

3. Article Directories – This is where you submit your content to directories that do exactly what you need them to do: Publish your content. These sites are dedicated to getting people reading your content. Many also offer Revenue Sharing on ads displayed when a visitor reads your content from their site. This is BY FAR the easiest and simplest way to make money online with your content. The more of these you submit your content to the more you’ll earn (generally speaking).

Revenue Sharing – Mainly done with contextual ads, for example: Google AdSense, Overture, FAN, etc. In return for your content (to prove to you the power of content) these websites offer you a percentage (usually in the 50% range) of the impressions of the ads shown when a user reads your article. Confused?

Let’s say 100 people read your article, that means that the ads will in/surrounding your text will display with your Publisher Id for 50 of those views (based on a 50/50 sharing rate). Which means that, during those 50 impressions, if a visitor clicks on an ad YOU earn money for that click! This may not seem like much but don’t forget that these sites receive millions of viewers a month and there is not limit to the amount of dorectories you can submit your content to. Post to as many of these as possible.

Contextual Ads – Remember I told you to keep that keyword density up? Well this is why. The most common ads, contextual ads, work on keywords. These will reflect ads that are pertinent to the context of your content. Why is this important? Higher paying keyword phrases will yield higher paying clicks. Some companies pay up to 50 dollars A CLICK on certain keyword phrases! If your content has a good keyword density of those 50-dollar-keywords then those ads will be displayed and if someone clicks on that ads you’ve just earned 50 bucks!

Link Backs – Some of the Article Directories don’t offer Revenue Sharing but you should still submit to these as well. Why? You may be asking? Simple. In ALL article directories you can place a link to anywhere you like in your resource box (by anywhere I normally mean a website or page). Why not place a link to one of your submissions on another site? Maybe one that does allow to earn? You still benefit from their mountains of traffic and all it cost you was a couple of minutes filling out some forms.

4th and Final Key – YOU

You, author, writer, poet, blogger, you are the ULTIMATE Key. If you really and truly want to earn money online, whether it be part time of full time, you are the answer. The more work you put into this (like all else in life) the more you get out of it. I have given you all the Keys to Earning online right here and if you have any other questions you may always ask now it’s time for you to open the door as only you have that ULTIMATE key!

Keys To Earn is an answer to all those who want to earn money online without spending a dime. All you need to do is submit high-quality content and your Google AdSense Publisher ID (displayed 75% of the time) and you’re on your way to making money online. We take care of the website, you take care of the content.
