Daktari Bush School and Wildlife Orphanage is a registered non profit company in South Africa situated on a 700 hectare reserve not far from the Kruger Park. Between 6 and 10 under-privileged children are collected from their village every Monday and they stay at the bush school and orphanage for five days, during which time they receive extra education in various school subjects, such as Mathematics, English and Life Skills, but concentrate on environmental education using orphaned wild animals as a medium. Many of these children have never even seen an Impala, yet they will be the future custodians of our environment! The bush school is wheelchair friendly, and hosts people with disabilities as well, and also hosts children from the local HIV/AIDS orphanage. The project can be self sustainable by taking in paying volunteers and by hosting travellers in our comfortable bush camp accommodation. Full details on our
